Dual Lens 3D Android Smartphone - Sharp Aquos SH-12C

The AQUOS PHONE SH-12C, a Sharp smartphone that enables 3D photography with a dual lens camera.

This model runs Android 2.3 on a 1.4Ghz Qualcomm CPU, and features a 4.2 inch qHD 540x960 pixel resolution display. The SH-12C also supports the NFC mobile wallet service, mobile TV, infrared data transmission and tethering.

"A feature of this smartphone is 3D photography. When you turn the screen horizontally, the 3D menu is displayed. When the screen is vertical, you can switch between 2D and 3D using the 3D button."

This phone has two CMOS cameras on the rear, so it can take a 3D picture when the shutter is pressed once as opposed to conventional methods using only one lens which require the camera to be moved sideways. The glasses-free 3D display enables both photos and videos to be captured and viewed on screen.

The camera shoots 3D pictures at Full HD and 3D video at 720p, with regular photos taking full advantage of the 8MP CMOS sensor.

"When you're shooting, switching between 2D and 3D is easy, because you can do it at just the push of a button."

"Until now, most 3D applications have been for watching, like 3D TV and the Nintendo 3DS. But this smartphone lets you capture 3D, so you can have fun showing 3D pictures to your family and friends. We think this will help to promote the use of 3D in general."
